From September 1 to 14, 2025, the first edition of "DIGITAL SPRINGBOARD" was held using digital signage installed in the Station Atrium on the B2 floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower. This project showcased video works by digital artists on public signage, with the inaugural theme set as "PERFORMED IMAGE."
The initiative was developed in collaboration with the research and development team "TOKYO NODE LAB" at the information hub "TOKYO NODE" in Toranomon Hills. It aimed to create new opportunities for digital art expression and physical viewing experiences. Up to ten selected works were exhibited on signage located near office spaces and shuttle elevator entrances, with plans to expand to other signage within Toranomon Hills in the future.
This project forms part of TOKYO NODE LAB's efforts to generate innovative urban experiences through digital technologies such as XR and AR. Supported by an organization operating a digital art distribution platform, it explored the intersection of online and real-world art engagement. Additionally, it received backing from Tokyo's "Be Smart Tokyo" initiative, which promotes smart services to enhance urban convenience and cultural value.
As an experimental endeavor to explore new relationships between digital art and urban spaces, the first DIGITAL SPRINGBOARD contributed to building a creative ecosystem within the Toranomon Hills area. Ongoing open calls and exhibitions are anticipated to further develop digital art across the cityscape.
