From November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, the LED Cube at Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. exhibited "Layers of Air and Light," a work by Misaki Nakano. The piece explores the presence of light and air drifting within the urban environment known as Nikotama.
The artwork captures the layers of light reflected and swaying on buildings and the breeze from the Tama River, visualizing the calm moments that exist between them. Its softly shifting colors delicately express the daily changes in the atmosphere and the movement of sunlight, inviting viewers to perceive subtle transformations within the cityscape.
Misaki Nakano has been active as a WebGL developer since 2016 and is currently part of GitHub's branding team. While implementing WebGL for corporate branding sites, simulations, and data visualizations, Nakano also pursues artistic activities internationally. Collaborations with artists such as Sputniko! and the virtual human imma have taken place at Bright Moments events in London and New York. This work leverages Nakano's technical expertise and expressive capacity to present the layers of urban light and air as a new visual experience.
