From January 5 to February 28, 2026, the LED Cube at Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. exhibited "Melt," a risograph animation by Hiromu Oka. The work centers on themes of sunrise and snowmelt, featuring visuals that appear to melt as they are illuminated by a sphere representing the sun.

The piece draws inspiration from the transformation in mood and attire of visitors before and after shopping. The unique texture of risograph printing, including the grain of the ink and the feel of paper, is projected onto a large LED screen, creating an organic sense of resolution distinct from typical high-definition imagery. Hiromu Oka specializes in blending digital and analog visual expressions, producing stop-motion animations using risograph techniques alongside motion graphics.

"Melt" offers a new visual experience by exploring color layering and image transformation derived from digital printing processes. By presenting imagery that evokes the texture of paper within a public space, the work invites viewers to reconsider everyday changes and transitions in their surroundings.
